Southbound Taxi Drive-Away Delivery
The Southbound Taxi Service is a vehicle delivery service provided by a Central Ontario company called Life's a Trip.
We deliver cars, trucks, buses and RV's of any class, make and model, anywhere in North America provided that the starting or ending point is in or near Ontario Canada.
We offer door-to-door delivery of your vehicle via " drive-away " which means that one of our courteous, respectful and mature drivers will pick up your vehicle at your door and deliver it to the location you designate, whether that be a residential address or a commercial location such as an airport or a job-site.
We monitor your vehicle throughout the process, keeping an eye on the gauges and checking the fluids daily. We wash your vehicle before delivering it, often leaving it in better condition than when we picked it up.
Your vehicle is driven directly to it's destination in a timely manner. WE DO NOT PUT STRANGERS IN YOUR VEHICLE, all of our drivers are people who we know and trust.
Customs
There have recently been important changes to US customs procedures regarding driving someone else's vehicle into the United States. Customs now requires that people driving other's vehicle into the United States for a fee, must be registered as a driver with an officially recognized commercial carrier and must electronically file a manifest in advance of arriving at the US border. The Southbound Taxi Service provided by Life's a Trip has obtained the necessary certification required by US Customs and can prepare all the necessary documentation as required by customs.
As a snowbird or as someone visiting the United States for vacation purposes, you are allowed to bring your vehicle into the United States for a period of up to 1 year duty free. If your intention is to leave your vehicle in the United States for a period longer than 1 year, the vehicle must be formally imported into the United States. Please note that we respect US Customs and support their initiative to stop the illegal entry of vehicles into their country. We ask that our customers abide by the 1 year free entry rule, or formally import their vehicles into the United States through proper means.
